Loesche Loves Art

Congratulations to the winners of  the Annual District-wide student “Young Artists” Exhibition. This year the show will be totally virtual due to students participating in online and hybrid learning. The theme for this year is “Healing Through the Power of the Arts”.

Loesche artists Alexandra Volyanyuk and Kamilla Charimova won top prizes among K-12 grade contestants.

Welcome to the Loesche Loves Art page! This page is devoted to the creative and artistic students at Loesche Elementary School and will showcase many of their fabulous artworks from the year.

Loesche is part of The Bioko Biodiversity Protection Program, a research partnership between Drexel University in Philadelphia and the Universidad Nacional de Guinea Ecuatorial in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. Its mission is the conservation of Bioko Island’s biodiversity, especially its critically endangered primates and nesting marine turtles, through research, education and outreach. We are so proud to be a part of this wonderful program. Students created sea turtles, chameleons, butterflies, amphibians and butterflies, which provided the inspiration for the Philadelphia Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) Picasso Project Grant mural being installed in the B wing Breezeway!

This page will be updated often so be sure to check it out and look for all of the exciting changes!
