School Hours
School starts promptly at 8:15 am and ends promptly at 2:54 pm. Your child should be in line by 8:10 am. Do not drop off your students before 8:00 AM. Our staff is not available to supervise before this time. Under no circumstance should any student be left unattended before 8:10 AM on school property, including the parking lot and yards. All Kindergarden students must be supervised by their parents until picked up by their teachers.
School is dismissed at 2:54 p.m. We encourage you to schedule doctor’s appointments for after 2:54 p.m. Early dismissal is disruptive to the instructional program.
School Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast is served beginning at 7:45am to 8:10 am, in the cafeteria. Students may enter through the yard doors (Door 9). All children are entitled to a free breakfast and free lunch and are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. No pork is ever served in the cafeteria.
Student Code of Conduct
The Code of Student Conduct provides an outline of the student disciplinary process for schools and parents/guardians.
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to:
- outline clear expectations for all school community members
- provide information around student and parent/guardian rights and supports
- equip staff with guidelines for addressing student behavior so that our students and school communities can feel safe and grow to be successful.

Acceptable Use Policy
All students at Loesche are required to follow the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for technology use. This document covers the use of any technology while on school district property, as well as use of school district provided technology outside of the school.

Electronics Policy
Loesche strongly discourages students from bringing cell phones and other electronics to school.
THE SCHOOL WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, DAMAGED, OR STOLEN DEVICES.
Only materials related to a student’s education should be brought to school. A phone is available in the main office for students if an emergency should arise and students need to call home. Families can also reach a student with any urgent message by contacting the school’s main office. They should NOT contact their student directly via the child’s phone during the school day. No smart watches or smart glasses are to be brought into school.
The first time a student is caught with a cell phone, they will be warned to put it away. The second time the student is caught with a cell phone, it will be removed from their person and placed in a safe place till the end of the day for parent pickup. The third time a student is caught with a cell phone, it will be taken away and kept till the end of the year.
Uniform Policy
Uniforms must be worn EVERYDAY! The School Reform Commission has adopted a mandatory school uniform policy for all students. Starting the first day of school in September, Loesche students are required to wear the following:
Girls : Girls will wear either a long or short sleeved navy blue golf shirt that has a collar with khaki pants, skirt, skort, or jumper. Skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be no shorter than three inches above the knee. Short shorts or skirts will not be permitted.
Boys : Boys will wear khaki pants with either a long or short sleeved navy blue golf shirt which has a collar.
When the weather becomes colder, students may wear a blue sweatshirt, sweater, or inside jacket. Students may also wear a blue turtleneck.
Students should not wear expensive jewelry at any time. Shoes must be sturdy such as sneakers with ties or shoes with buckles. No sandals, flip flops or high heels.
All students are expected to adhere to this uniform policy. Failure to wear the school uniform will result in appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Over-sized clothing is not permitted. Undergarments should not be visible. Consequences for students not adhering to the uniform policy may include: detention, time out or loss of privileges.
Uniform shirts and gym uniforms are available for sale at our school. And can be purchased from stores.

Inclement Weather
On inclement weather days, students are requested to enter the building through the yard doors and proceed to the auditorium.
PLEASE do not send children to school before 8:00 am, as there is not sufficient staff early in the morning to keep them safe.
On inclement weather days, please consult the website (both Loesche and School District of Philadelphia), KYW 1060 on the radio, TV, and FM radio stations.
